A new restaurant is coming to the former Morton’s Steakhouse space in Buckhead, which shuttered more than four years ago.

Sage Woodfire Tavern will take 7,000 square feet at Buckhead’s 3379 Peachtree building. A renovation is planned for the former Morton’s location, which will add an outdoor patio to the ground-level of the building.

Set to open in early 2017, the restaurant is a concept from the Infinite Dining Group and will be the company’s fifth location in metro Atlanta.

The restaurant group also operates Sage Woodfire Tavern Perimeter and Sage Woodfire Tavern Alpharetta.

The 3379 Peachtree building is a mid-rise glass office building in the heart of Buckhead’s central business district and near Lenox Square mall. It’s owned by Roseview-PMRG Fund I LLC, a joint venture formed by PMRG and The Roseview Group.

“Sage Woodfire Tavern is a perfect match for this building, as it brings a nice variety of signature dishes and a large tapas selection, perfect for lunch or dinner,” Amy Fingerhut, CBRE’s vice president of retail advisory and transaction services, said in a statement. “The Buckhead location caters to the typical consumer for a concept like Sage.”

Sage Woodfire Tavern will offer fresh fish, seafood, hand-cut steaks, chops, gourmet salads, chicken, pastas and burgers. Many of the items are prepared over a hickory oak wood fire grill.

Fingerhut with CBRE represented the building landlord in the deal. Irving Jacobson with Atlanta’s The Shumacher Group represented the tenant.
